What Are Dental Implants?

Dental implants are a common treatment for a variety of dental issues. However, most of our patients are not familiar with implants and their benefits. For our patients with cracked or missing teeth, dental implants can restore both function and natural appearance. At Hooks Family Dentistry, we offer comprehensive dental care that can treat and restore your oral health, including start-to-finish dental implants. Let’s take a closer look at implants and what to expect if you need them.

What Are Dental Implants?

Dental implants are a permanent dental solution for cracked or missing teeth. They function just like your natural tooth and are custom-made to fit each individual patient. With proper maintenance, dental implants can last for decades, even a lifetime!

What Happens When You Get Dental Implants?

If Dr. Hooks determines that dental implants are the right solution for you, we will place the implants during a safe, efficient surgical procedure. First, we will place a titanium post – the implant itself – in your jawbone. This post serves as the anchor for the restoration that will go on top and functions just like the roots of your natural teeth. Once the implant heals and bonds with your jawbone, Dr. Hooks will attach your restoration – typically a crown, bridge, or denture. We make sure each restoration matches the color of your natural teeth. Once your implants have healed, no one will be able to tell the difference!

If you’ve been living with cracked, chipped, or missing teeth, come in for a consultation to see if dental implants are the right option for you. We work hard to create individualized treatment plans for each of our patients, depending on their health history and their goals.

We want dental implants, along with all our other comprehensive preventive and restorative treatments, to be affordable to all families, so we offer in-house financing plans. To schedule an appointment with Dr. Hooks or ask our friendly team any questions, call us today at (979) 694-1200.
